Railton wins Concours and Brough retires in Flying Scotsman Rally

Over the weekend of 27th to 29th March 2009, David Rings and his daughter Catriona competed in the London to Edinburgh 'Flying Scotsman' rally, doing really well and winning the Concours d'Elegance. They also came 11th out of 46 in the post-1925 category, with just 18 minutes and 20 seconds of time penalty. David Moore and his stepson James Ellis campaigned in the Brough Superior, and eventually retired with a broken clutch in the Yorkshire Dales

What is the Railton Owners Club?

The Railton Owners Club was founded in 1956 by a group of likeminded owners of Railton cars. The initial aims were to arrange social events and gatherings of cars; to provide technical information to help owners maintain their vehicles; to communicate with members via a regular magazine which was to become ‘The Bulletin’ .

Later in the Club’s life, owners of Brough Superior, Essex,  Terraplane and Hudson vehicles were invited to apply for membership. This was because they shared similar mechanical components. Membership averages some 200 and extends around the World.

If you would like to know much more about the cars we cater for, view our History of Cars  and the Picture Gallery.
